Ciao Chow is a play on two words – Italian and English – meaning:

“Hello! Eat!”

Ciao Chow is a casual open-kitchen Italian cafeteria that promotes lively interaction between our patrons and our chefs. A theater of sorts, where your meal is freshly prepared and your drink expertly poured in front of you at our pizza kitchen, chef’s kitchen and cocktail bar.

From our communal tables, to our pick-and-choose antipasti platters, pastas and pizzas, everything at Ciao Chow fosters a convivial atmosphere where food is shared among family and friends.

With a decidedly Italian touch, Ciao Chow’s interior features monolithic marble counter tops and terrazzo floors blended with an industrial feel of exposed concrete, copper piping and light fixtures. Within our large seating area, our chef’s table can fit up to 10 people to accommodate special requests and occasions.

Our customers can be assured that all of the ingredients we use are of the highest quality and our cooking methods authentic. We do not cut costs for cheaper ingredients - period. Who would have thought that basic food ingredients could be so highly complicated? WE DO.

ANTIPASTI

All of our cold cuts and cheeses are hand-selected and imported from artisan farms throughout Italy. Many of our suppliers still use the same methods of production that they used over a thousand years ago - passed down from generation to generation. Therefore, we proudly serve only "Denominazione di Origine Controllata" (DOC) products from Italy, EU government protection of quality and authentic agricultural foodstuffs designations: "Protected Designation of Origin" (PDO), "Protected Geographical Indication" (PGI), and "Traditional Specialities Guaranteed" (TSG).

Pizza

Everyone loves pizza, and everyone has their own idea of what it is. From city-to-city and country-to-country, we have seen it all. Ranging from thick crust to thin, from pies to pan, it is easy to forget that the origin of pizza started in Naples, Italy in 1889. At Ciao Chow, we go back to pizza’s traditional roots and are the first pizzeria to be certified by the Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) in Hong Kong. The association was officially established by the Italian government as a Denomination Of Control (DOC), a designation that made AVPN a legal entity able to give special designation to pizzerias who meet strict requirements that respect the tradition of the art of Neapolitan pizza making. Authentic Neapolitan pizza. Pizza the way it was meant to be.

At Ciao Chow you can customize your own pizza. The dough is prepared for you "à la minute" by our pizzaiolo. After that, the combinations are endless. And since we use only the finest ingredients, all of the pizzas come out delicious: our way or yours.

Pasta

Dry vs Fresh pasta has been a misconceived debate. The answer? Both! Some sauces are better paired with dry pasta and others better paired with fresh. So it is no surprise we needed to have both on our menu.

Dry pasta

Our dry pasta comes from a city called Gragnano, the birth place of dry pasta. The city known for its specific water and light moist air, make the atmospheric conditions perfect for the slow-drying of pasta. The first pasta to be recognized with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status in Europe can only mean it is the best.

fresh pasta

Our daily-made in-house pasta is made with the best pasta machine on the market. Not only that, we import our eggs from Italy because that’s how authentic we would like our pasta. To back that up, our fresh pasta recipes are conceived by a World Champion of Pasta title holder. How about them "eggs"!

Ciao Chow is the first-ever restaurant In Hong Kong to serve 25 craft beers on tap. It wasn’t easy but our custom-built keg display fridges keep our drafts nice and cold. Our constantly changing craft beer selections keep things fresh. Adding to this, our mixed drinks include a large selection of Beer-tails and Cocktails designed by award-winning mixologists.
